Cana hissed as she very slowly and very carefully sat up in bed, wincing the entire time. She readjusted herself to be more comfortable, almost biting her tongue against the urge to curse obscenities. The first three cards told her almost nothing, making her roll her eyes. “Probably a prediction about how boring my recovery is going to be,” Cana grumbled, reaching for the next card. Turning it over, she raised a single eyebrow.

 

“The Red Dragon… Natsu,” she sighed, a faint smile on her face. “No surprise there.” The Fire Dragon Slayer seemed to be at the center of a lot of the major events that happened to Fairy Tail; almost every time Cana did a reading, the Red Dragon card appeared.

 

The next uncovered card saw her other eyebrow shoot up. “The Maiden of Water… Juvia? With Natsu…?”

 

Now that was an odd reading. Natsu and Juvia were friends, sure, but nothing as close as what this reading indicated. And past readings had almost never shown them together without also showing the cards that represented Lucy and Grey.

 

Cana did have to remind herself that tarot reading wasn’t a precise art; there was a lot of room for interpretation and different meanings.

 

Still… Cana frowned lightly as she remembered the missions that Juvia and Natsu had been on recently, and how they suddenly seemed much closer than they had before.

 

Still frowning, Cana drew the next card…and her eyes grew wide with disbelief.

 

“What the…” Cana drew a card that featured a heart with bat wings and a devil’s tail. This particular card only had one specific meaning… “Infidelity?!”

 

Abruptly cutting herself off, Cana took some deep breaths, calming herself down. “There’s no way,” she muttered to herself, laying down the card and almost glaring at it. “Natsu and Juvia, cheating on Lucy and Grey, with each other?! That makes NO sense!”

 

…right?

 

Shaking her head, Cana continued the reading. This was the strangest card reading she had ever done, but, if it was true, one of the most interesting and scandalous as well! So juicy! She had to know more! Flipping over the next card, she narrowed her eyes. But what was her connection to Natsu and Juvia?

 

Bracing herself, Cana turned over the next card… and stared at it, mind blank.

 

A pair of lips, crossed by a dagger. As with many other tarot cards, it could have multiple meanings. But the most common one?

Lucy huffed, pouting. “No. I asked Levy about that; she told me they just took another mission. For some reason, they were trying to avoid Erza while doing so. It’s odd though, they’ve been going on a lot of missions together lately; I guess there’s a lot of jobs that need their skills…”

 

Cana gulped uneasily, her recent tarot reading flashing through her mind. ‘Could… could it really be true…’

 

“Cana? Is everything alright?” Lucy asked, brow furrowing in concern.

 

“Y-yeah, I’m fine, Lucy,” Cana assured her, even as her mind spun. “Just fine…”
